Elegie was written in the summer of 2022. I use a French romantic idiom, in the tradition of the short works for violin and piano that filled the programs of violinists such as Fritz Kreisler and Jasha Heifetz at the beginning of the last century. With this 'lyrical poem in which the pleasant memory of what used to be alternates with sadness for its loss', I try to evoke the atmosphere of yesteryear.
